A few days ago, Foreign Affairs published an article explaining „Why ISIS Is Rooting for Trump.“ Among the reasons given therein, the „prophecy of a „Final Battle“ once again reminds us of the waning „Islamic State’s“ ideologic base. In other words: There is a reason why US ground troops could still lead to highly dangerous ramifications.

The US and the „Islamic State“
Donald Trump just accused Barack Obama of being the „founder of ISIS“ while calling Hillary Clinton its „co-founder.“ Although he did not go into detail, his remarks once again highlight the need to revisit the US‘ role in the region in general and the rise of the „Islamic State“ in particular. Unfortunately, Trump’s remarks are not completely off the mark.

Hillary Clinton, Gefahr für Europa?
Der Ausgang der US-Präsidentschaftswahlen wird direkte Auswirkungen auf Europa nach sich ziehen. Obwohl zahlreiche Europäer über Donald Trump nur den Kopf schütteln können, wäre auch ein Sieg von Hillary Clinton äußerst folgenreich.
